2 police hurt in London stabbing, unrelated to queen events
LONDON (AP) — London’s police force says two officers have been hospitalized after being stabbed in central London early Friday. It says the attack is not being treated as terrorism. The Metropolitan Police force says officers “encountered a man with a knife” in the Leicester Square area, a busy tourist hub, and were stabbed while trying to detain him. A female officer suffered a serious stab wound to her arm which may be life-changing. Her male colleague was stabbed in the neck and chest, but should make a full recovery. A man believed to be in his 20s has been was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and assaulting an emergency worker.
