Local company debuts first automated bottling line

DIVINIA Water continued its growth stage Thursday morning as the company debuted its brand-new bottling line, rolling out about 100 bottles in a test run.

Norland International manufactured the Glasspak 66 unit precisely for DIVINIA’S exacting specifications. The line will allow DIVINIA to produce up to 3,600 bottles per hour. That’s a 1,500-percent increase over previous capabilities, which were hindered by a labor-intensive bottling process.

“This solidifies us going into the future,” said Steven Sedlmayr, CEO of DIVINIA Water, Inc. “We’re moving strategically in all the right directions.”

Previously, DIVINIA could yield up to 225 units per hour, using 16-ounce glass bottles. Vice President of Operations Crosby Sedlmayr exclaimed the positive effects the bottling line will have on DIVINIA.

“We’re able to increase our capacity while maintaining the integrity of our product,” said Crosby Sedlmayr. “Most bottling lines use plastics and other material that can leach into the product. Our new line features all stainless-steel pipes, so our water remains true to its purest state when it travels from our purifiers to the bottles.”

The detailed specifications help DIVINIA maintain its role as a leader in eco-friendly drink packaging.

“We use glass bottles made up of 35-percent recycled material,” said VP Sedlmayr. “Combined with the ease of recycling glass after drinking a bottle of our water, we hope to keep plastics out of the landfill, the oceans, and more importantly, as many human bodies as we can by growing our market share.”

In just its third year of business, DIVINIA Water grew sales over 200-percent from year two to year three in 2018.

“We’re continuing to add restaurants and stores to our distribution,” added CEO Steven Sedlmayr. “With the capabilities we’re implementing with the bottling line, we’ll be heading into 2019 and beyond with increased distribution efforts.
