After this weekend’s home invasion, a lot of people are worried about intruders coming into their homes. Andrea Hall, a community member in Idaho Falls said, “I think that’s alarming… You know your neighbors. You know your friends. You know who comes in and out of your house. So, you feel safe that everything is fine. And, you don’t really need to lock your door.” As more people are moving to town, it comes with the good and the bad. A couple of ways to try to protect someone’s family and home is to lock the doors, get motion detective lights, or something as simple as changing the screws in the outside doors. The president of NKO Security Systems, Noah Olivas, says, “You can replace any screws that come with two and a half to three-inch stainless steel screws. So, that’s going to go into the studs and that’s going to make the door really solid. It would be really hard for somebody to try to force the door open or kick it open.” Meanwhile, Sergeant Bryan Lovell at the Bonneville County sheriff department believes that being prepared is the key to safety, especially in emergency situations.
