Rose Road traffic shift starts tonight

Snow or no, the Idaho Transportation Department will begin striping newly completed pavement and continue work on the southbound side of the Riverside Canal Bridge.

ITD will shift southbound traffic on I-15 near the Rose Road interchange (Exit 98) to the median on Interstate 15 beginning after 10 p.m. Wednesday. The road work will continue through early April. The entire project is part of a year-long effort to reconstruct the interchange and should be done by late this year.

The construction work includes widening the Rose Road overpass and increasing its vertical clearance, reconfiguring and lengthening the interchange ramps, and replacing two canal structures to support current traffic loads.

“We are asking that motorists slow down and pay attention while driving through these lane shifts. Safety continues to be our first priority,” said ITD Southeast Idaho Project Engineer Eric Staats.
