Idaho State Tax Commission opens new Pocatello location
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for the Idaho State Tax Commission’s new Pocatello office Monday morning.
The new office, located at 1111 North 8th Ave., is “really visible” compared to the previous location, according to Tax Commissioner Tom Katsilometes.
“It gives the taxpayers access and accessibility like they didn’t have in the past,” he said. “So it’ll really help enhance the ability for the taxpayer to have access to the services that the tax commission provides for them.”
In the midst of tax season, many know that there have been some issues with anticipated returns due to some discrepancy in withholding, but Katsilometes said it’s nothing to worry about.
“It’ll all work out in the end,” he said. “There’s plenty of revenue coming in, it’s just there’s a time sequence that’s being taken care of, in this situation.”
A three-month delay in revenue is all Katsilometes said it will amount to.
“It’ll all come out, everybody will be back on track next year,” he explained.
And with the tax commission’s new location, Katsilometes believes that more people will be able to access the services that can help them.
“This is on Oak and Yellowstone and that’s one of the busiest intersections in the state of Idaho so we’ll have plenty of activity here,” Katsilometes said.
