2 arrested at Rexburg motel

Rexburg Police arrested two people Wednesday at the Super 8 Motel .

Chief Shane Turman said police were asked to investigate potential theft of services at the motel and found three people in a room. One unidentified person ran away. Two people, Morgan K. Nate, 21, and Michael J. Sanchez, 25, both of Idaho Falls were wanted on Bonneville County warrants and placed under arrest.

The motel asked that Nate’s car be towed. When police inventoried the car they found a variety of drugs and paraphernalia. A subsequent search warrant for the motel room turned up more drugs and a handgun.

Nate was arrested on two felony drug charges. Sanchez was also arrested for frequenting a place where drugs are present and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Both were also arrested on the outstanding warrants.

Nate and Sanchez were being held in the Madison County Jail as investigation continues.
