CITRONELLE, Alabama (WALA) — Officials are investigating after school buses at McDavid-Jones Elementary School on U.S. 45 in Citronelle were burned.

A Mobile County Public School System official tells FOX10 News that a number of buses were involved and that they may have been intentionally set ablaze.

Authorities believe this was arson just because of the number of buses involved and that it would be unusual to have so many buses destroyed like that, the school system official said.

Other school buses will be used to transport McDavid-Jones students to school this morning.

The MCPSS official tells FOX10 News that footage from surveillance cameras on school property will be used in the investigation.
