Police Identify Shooter, Women Killed In Ammon
UPDATE: Sgt. Jeff Edwards said the man who shot the women and children was Gaylin Leirmoe, 26. He set the basement of the house on fire before he turned the gun on himself and committed suicide, police said.
Michelle Kern and Leirmoe were the parents of the two children, Edwards said. They had been separated for several months prior to Friday’s shooting.

Four people were found dead after a small fire was reported at 4335 Amber Lane in Ammon early Friday morning, police said.
A neighbor noticed the fire just before 3 a.m. and called police.
When emergency crews got to the fire, they found four people dead and one injured.
Police have confirmed the two women who died were sisters, Malinda Kern, 19, and Michelle Kern, 22. Michelle Kern is the mother of the two children who were also found dead, ages 1 and 3.
