Rigby Police Bust Meth Lab

Law enforcement officers spent the weekend shutting down a meth lab in Rigby.

The Rigby Police Department, the Idaho State Police and the Idaho Falls Fire Department Hazmat Team, went to 258 W 1st South in Rigby after a woman called Friday to report she thought her nephew might be doing drugs in a detached garage.

Officers obtained a search warrant and found several items and various chemicals that could be used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine in the garage.

The area was turned over to an independent hazardous material disposal company for final cleanup.

This incident ends a yearlong investigation of the suspect who is still wanted for questioning by the police. The suspect’s name is not being released at this time, pending his arrest.

Police say the public was never in danger from the chemicals or substances found at the home.
