Explore For Free During National Parks Week
Saturday kicks off National Parks week across the country, meaning if local people want to visit nearby Grand Teton or Yellowstone, they can forget about the $25 charge and go for free.
Jackie Skaggs, spokesperson for Grand Teton National Park, said it’s perfect timing because this is when the park comes alive. It’s re-populated by animals coming out of their winter refuge.
Skaggs said there is also less traffic congestion than the summer months.
“It looks like it’s going to be a great weekend to be in Grand Teton National Park (with) good sunshine, good warmth – relatively speaking for us,” said Skaggs. “But, again, that opportunity to get out and about.”
Saturday, April 28 is “Junior Ranger Day” for kids, along with a number of activities and demonstrations for families.
There will be four days of sage grouse tours, too, on April 21, 22, 28 and 29. To make a reservation, call 307-739-3399.
