Police Inquiry Into Sen. McGee Goes To Prosecutors
A police investigation into the conduct of former state Sen. John McGee has been turned over to Ada County prosecutors.
McGee resigned in February amid sexual harassment allegations.
The Idaho Statesman reports Ada County prosecutors confirmed Monday they are reviewing the results of a state police investigation into the allegations to determine whether charges will be filed against McGee.
Chief Deputy Prosecutor Roger Bourne says his office hopes to make a decision by the end of the week.
McGee, a Caldwell Republican who had been seen as a political riser, resigned rather than face a legislative ethics committee over sexual harassment claims made by a female Senate staffer. McGee had been working to restore his reputation following a Father’s Day 2011 arrest for drunken driving.
