Idaho Falls dedicates new fishing pond

Idaho Falls wants you and your family to “go fish!”

City officials dedicated Becker Pond in Ryder Park on Friday morning.

The Department of Fish and Game have already stocked the pond with rainbow trout. They plan on bringing more fish every two weeks as families come to take advantage of the new attraction.

“This provides an opportunity for new anglers or beginner anglers to be with their families and come down and take advantage of the fish,” said Dan Garren of Fish and Game. “It doesn’t take a lot of effort to catch a fish here.”

Families are allowed to keep what they catch, but there is a limit of six fish per family.
