New web portal makes health care resources accessible

A new web portal called the Network of Care program is making health and wellness resources available for all Idahoans.

The state will be one of the first in the nation to provide this type of knowledge all in one location.

“I think it’s the future for public health. We need to be a resource to the people,” said Eastern Idaho Public Health District Director Richard Horne.

The newly-launched Network of Care web portal provides detailed information for Idahoans to help them improve their health. Basically, it’s everything you’ve ever wanted to know about community health care.

“All of the pills, all of the diseases, all of the medications, all of this is on the site,” said Horne.

Horne said the information the website provides can answer questions from what breast cancer symptoms look like to what types of infectious diseases have been found in your area.

“We can go to this source and it’s the updated, most recent information that tells us about the disease and will help us get information out to the public that’s accurate,” said Horne.

The Network of Care web portal can also be viewed in multiple languages.
