E. coli found in Blackfoot city water

The city of Blackfoot has issued a boil order for a section of town due to the detection of E. coli bacteria in the water.

Mayor Mike Virtue said the order effects people who live east of Fisher Avenueand south of Mitchell Lane.

The city is asking folks to boil water for five minutes.

In compliance with Department of Environmental Quality regulations, city water must now pass two clean water samples. The first was taken Thursday, and results will be known Friday. The boil order could be lifted as early as Sunday.
