Car accident on US 20 blocks traffic

A two-car crash near Rigby was blocking traffic in both directions Monday.

It appears to have been a rear-end crash. Both cars went off the right side of U.S. Highway 20 southbound around 4 p.m.

A bumper was lying in the roadway.

Two people were taken away in separate ambulances. The extent of their injuries is unknown

The right lane of southbound traffic is closed. A northbound lane is also closed, due to emergency vehicles at the accident.

Be careful driving tonight – as of 4:30 p.m., visibility was less than half a mile in Jefferson County.
