Teton Valley Hospital goes nonprofit
An area hospital is now out of county control.
As of Jan. 1, Teton Valley Hospital in Driggs is a nonprofit, which means it’s a separate entity from Teton County.
There will be no changes in the way patients receive care or how they pay for it.
“Our budget’s around $17 million. The county budget is more on the order of 4 (million dollars),” said hospital CEO Keith Gnagey. “This places county constituents at less risk for any financial problems on our side.”
Hospital administrators held a series of public forums to gain feedback during the conversion to a non-profit.
Gnagey said he still wants to hear from the public, but no meetings are scheduled.
