Missing woman’s car found in mall parking lot

The car of a missing woman was found near a mall, and police said there were no signs of forced entry in the vehicle. Angelea “Leah” Schultz, who disappeared under suspicious circumstances, left nearly everything behind, including two children.

The car, a white 2000 Honda Accord, was found west side of Pine Ridge Mall near Sears on Wednesday night. Police did not disclose the location of the car until Thursday afternoon due to an ongoing investigation.

They also said Thursday that there did not appear to be a connection between Schultz’s disappearance and others that have occurred recently in the area.

The Bannock County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday that Schultz was last seen Sunday at 8 p.m. at her boyfriend’s home on Reservation Road, deputies said, and was last spoken to on the phone about an hour later.

Friends said Schultz leaving her children behind is extremely out of character for her, and the sheriff agrees.

“It is highly unusual for a mother to leave her children and to leave their house without any other items being disturbed or taken,” said Sheriff Lorin Nielsen. “We are concerned, so any information from the public would be greatly appreciated.”

Nielsen said authorities are suspecting foul play, but there is no evidence of that yet.

Police said she did not leave with any items other than the clothing on her back, her cell phone and her car.

She is from Pocatello, a friend told Local News 8. She is a manager at a Jo-Ann fabric store.

Search parties were gathering and focusing their efforts at the LDS church on Siphon and Philbin roads in Chubbuck on Wednesday night.

The Bannock County Sheriff’s Office is asking you to contact them if you have any information on her whereabouts at (208) 236-7111.
