sugardaddie.com, Idaho? Sugar City mayor says there’s no interest

After Salt Lake City officials turned down a lucrative offer from the online dating site Sugardaddie.com, one Sugar City official said his town would do the same if approached.

KSL-TV reports that executives with the website offered Salt Lake City $1.35 million in exchange for renaming the Sugar House neighborhood to “sugardaddie.com” for 10 years.

Sugar City, Idaho, Mayor Glenn Dalling said his city probably would not be interested — even for a million dollars from the dating website. The Madison County town has not received an offer.

The proposed change in Salt Lake City would have required that city signs and the neighborhood’s street car be renamed. Salt Lake City Councilman Soren Simonsen told KSL-TV that it’s hard to imagine anybody taking the idea seriously. But Sugardaddie.com CEO Steven Pasternack says he was very serious about renaming the neighborhood to celebrate the website’s 10-year anniversary.

The website has previously offered $4 million to change the name of Sugar Land, Texas.
