Jefferson schools won’t seek supplemental levy for now

One week away from a scheduled election, the Jefferson School Board in Rigby has unanimously voted to cancel a ballot on a $3 million supplemental levy.

In a news release, the district announced the school board now believes legislative action on a school appropriations bill will give the district enough flexibility and funding to balance its budget without the additional property tax assessment.

The board will review the Legislature’s actions March 27 and make a decision whether to reconsider a supplemental levy in a May election.
