‘Bucket List Bandit’ to plead guilty

A man nicknamed the “Bucket List Bandit” by the FBI after he allegedly told a Utah bank teller that he had just four months to live will plead guilty before a federal judge in Pennsylvania to that robbery and 10 other heists in nine other states, including one at the Ireland Bank in Pocatello.

Federal public defender Thomas Patton tells The Associated Press that Michael Eugene Brewster, formerly of Pensacola, Fla., will plead guilty Wednesday to the Sept. 10 Huntingdon National Bank Heist in Erie, which capped a cross-country string of robberies that began June 21 in Arvada, Colo.

Until the new charges were filed Tuesday, Brewster had been formally charged only with the Erie bank robbery, though the FBI identified him as a suspect in the others based on surveillance video.

Brewster has been jailed since his arrest in Oklahoma on Sept. 13.
