Bonneville School Board names new school principal

The Bonneville School Board looked within to find a principal for its newest elementary school.

Tom Gauchay, currently the principal of Falls Valley Elementary School, was named to lead the new school’s staff beginning next fall.Gauchay was been Falls Valley principal for about five years, and with Bonneville Joint School District 93 for 13.

Still under construction, the new school is south of Bonneville High School in the Crow Creek subdivision.

Gauchay said his first objective will be to schedule meetings with the community to choose a name for the new school.

“I’m appreciative of the support given to me by the school board and the district administration in affording me this unique opportunity,” he said in a statement. “As I partner with the new school community, I would like to replicate and expand many of the innovative and progressive programs instituted at Falls Valley. The school board will begin hearings next week to consider boundary lines that could affect many existing schools.

The school board has also begun a search to replace Gauchay as principal at Falls Valley.
