Woman says she was kidnapped

Police said an Idaho Falls man took a woman against her will Wednesday night.

Idaho Falls officers responded to the 800 block of Royal Avenue around 9:30 p.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance. Witnesses told police Renato Lee Trejo, 29, had forced a 29-year-old woman into his truck and drove away.

Officers found the woman near North Yellowstone and Woodruff. She had managed to escape the truck. She told police that Trejo and come to her Royal Avenue residence upset and argumentative and had dragged her outside and forced her into his truck.

After she jumped from the truck, the woman said Trejo chased her, but stopped because he left his truck in gear and another person came to her aid.

Officers arrested Trejo on second-degree kidnapping and domestic battery charges at a traffic stop in the 3300 block of South Holmes shortly after they found the woman.

He was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
