Man rescued from river, arrested

An Idaho Falls man was arrested by the deputies who saved him from the water Tuesday.

According to the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, 20-year-old Michael Conder jumped into the Snake River and was struggling around 7 p.m..

He was thrown a rescue rope at the grates of the Idaho Falls Power Plant and was pulled out.

While talking to deputies, he tried punching one of them, the sheriff’s office said.

He was quickly put in handcuffs and arrested on a charge of assault on an officer and a felony probation violation.
