Class to help parents respond to child abuse

A free class Tuesday in Idaho Falls will teach parents how they can help prevent childhood sexual abuse.

Mrs. Bonneville County America, Jen Austin-Mathewson, and Mrs. Idaho America, Kaley Sparling, are hosting the class at the daycare center on 680 May St.

The “Darkness to Light” class focuses on teaching parents how to respond to their child if abuse has happened.

Austin-Mathewson said one in three girls and one in six boys have been sexually assaulted.

The class will be from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
