Employee accused of stealing from IF store

An employee of the Tobacco Connection in Idaho Falls is accused of stealing $2,300 from the store.

Idaho Falls police said Nicole K. Hurt, 20, of Idaho Falls had claimed the missing money was stolen from the bank deposit left unattended in her vehicle July 7.

However, an investigation led police to believe otherwise.

Hurt left town before she could be arrested. Officers received a tip she was returning to Idaho Falls on a bus from North Dakota early Thursday. She was arrested on a charge of grand theft at Shakas on Foote Drive and Grandview just before 1 a.m.

Charles C. Osterhout of Ammon, 22, who wastraveling with Hurt, was also arrested on a warrant for a felony probation violation and possession of marijuana.
