Police: More kids smoking e-cigarettes

Pocatello police said more kids smoking electronic cigarettes, but it’s still illegal.

According to Idaho law, anyone under the age of 18 cannot be in possession of tobacco products or electronic cigarettes.

The police department said kids are claiming to have bought these products from e-cigarette shops around town. The kids and these shops will be seeing consequences for breaking the law.

“We’re going to get into the enforcement part of it to where we’ll start doing random checks and using decoys like what we do with alcohol,” said Lt. Paul Manning.

Manning also said police will start citing anyone underage they catch with e-cigarettes.
