2 wanted in hit-and-run on patrol vehicle

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday it is “still actively seeking any information” on two fugitives.

Law enforcement agencies in two counties have been looking for a man and a woman after a deputy’s patrol vehicle was rammed by a stolen pickup Thursday night.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said Wayne Eugene Pearson, 29, is wanted out of Bonneville County on stolen vehicle charges. A Jefferson County deputy found and recognized the stolen vehicle the night of Feb. 27 after a resident called in a complaint about a suspicious pickup parking in the driveway and then moving to a neighbor’s driveway.

When the deputy tried to stop the pickup, Pearson drove off, turned around and tried to run the deputy off the road, running into his patrol vehicle, the Jefferson’s Sheriff’s Office said. The deputy lost sight of the vehicle.

After patrolling the area, Jefferson deputies found the vehicle Friday morning by following tire marks in the mud to a garage of an abandoned home.

Pearson was in the company of Shavon Ruth Willard (Webb), who has a criminal warrant out of Bonneville County. They may be traveling together. Deputies from both counties are working to find the suspects.

They face charges that include hit and run, eluding, and aggravated battery on an officer with more pending.

If you see them, do not approach them, as they are considered armed and dangerous. If you have any information on this case, contact the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office at (208) 529-1200 or the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at (208) 745-9210.
