Hillside still on the move in Jackson
The unstable hillside in Jackson is continuing to slide slowly.
The bottom of the bulge is in the Walgreen parking lot.
According to data taken by geologists, the land is still moving a quarter of an inch per day in the Budge Drive area.
Geologists are now trying to figure out how to slow the landslide long-term, according to a news release Tuesday from the Town of Jackson.
So far, they are considering a massive buttress, ground anchors and a toe key system at the bottom of the slide.
About 60 people were evacuated when the hill began sliding on April 4. The evacuation has since been lifted for the people those on Budge Drive, but Walgreens is still closed.
