ISP celebrates 75 years with food drive

Idaho State Police will celebrate their 75 anniversary by giving back to the community.

State troopers will be accepting nonperishable food donations during the Chukars baseball game at Melalueca Field Saturday. They said they not only want to give back to the public, but they are hoping to honor those who have served and died through their charity.

“During these types of events it’s really nice to rub shoulders with the public and be able to show them that we’re human just like them. We enjoy coming out, and supporting them and we appreciate their support,” said Lt. Chris Weadick.

Weadick said the force hopes to get more than enough donations to fill their restored 1947 Chevy. He also said event would not be possible without support from Broadway Ford, The Bank of Commerce and Snake River Landing.
