Medical imaging company makes house calls

It won’t be long before you never have to leave your home for medical screening. A health company is taking a more mobile approach to X-rays and ultrasounds.

The company, Allied Portable X-ray and Ultrasound, works closely with assisted living and skilled nursing facilities across the region.

Older residents are able to get state-of-the-art imaging on the spot.

Results are immediate through the Verizon network.

The company said it’s the first of its kind in the area.

“It’s been booming so much that it still (didn’t have) someone to offer this kind of service,” said Brady Jones of Allied. “We’re excited to see (in) Idaho Falls and Pocatello that no one else was doing this –- and it’s such a beautiful area and close to Yellowstone –- that we’d be the first.”

This service is covered by most health insurance companies, Medicare and Medicaid.
