Pocatello sets fee changes for fiscal year 2015
The Pocatello City Council approved changes to several city services at Thursday’s city council meeting.
Among the changes, folks who use the Pocatello Regional Transit system will see those costs per ride go from .90 cents to $1. Anybody participating in some of the marathons or fun run/walks will see late registration fees increased by amounts between $5 and $25.
There will also be news fees for animal cremation services at the Pocatello Animal Shelter. The cemetery will also see many fee increases, including funeral services and spaces for ashes.
Users of the Ross Park Aquatic Complex who have young children may be pleased with some of the new fee changes. This includes a decreased cost for kids 1-6 for individual and group rates, while the 7+ rate will stay the same.
“Fees are set yearly by council resolution,” said David Swindell, chief financial officer for the city. “On Thursday’s agenda, the yearly fees for the next fiscal year were up for consideration, most of which are simply renewal of prior fees.”
