Idaho parks celebrate Public Lands Day
Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve will participate in National Public Lands Day Saturday.
The monument will host a 5K and 10K fun run, trail sign dedication and a mini film festival. Officials said visitor participation has been better than ever and they look forward to more this weekend.
“These lands are your lands and we really want people to come and enjoy them. Craters of the Moon is an especially important park because we were the very first park in the country to have designated wilderness back in 1970,” said chief of interpretation Ted Stout.
