Livestock killed in crash

Nearly two dozen cattle were killed in a crash near Victor on Monday.

Idaho State Police said Charles Camper, 54, Florence, Colorado, was driving south on Idaho Highway 31 in a 2005 Kenworth tractor pulling a trailer full of livestock. Around 11:15 a.m., Camper failed to safely negotiate a corner, causing the vehicle to tip over, ISP said.

The trailer held 85 head of cattle. Twenty-three died in the crash, and another two were hurt.

Camper was transported to Teton Valley Hospital in Driggs as a precautionary measure and was released.

The highway was blocked for a short time while the accident was cleared. The crash is under investigation by ISP.
