Bannock County sees high voter turnout so far
Polling venues across Bannock County were busy Tuesday morning, and election workers were bracing themselves for the lunchtime rush.
Interim county clerk Robert Poleki said the county had already received 4,500 early voter and absentee ballots and expects roughly 20,000 more voters to hit the polls by the end of the day.
He said that’s a 60 percent turnout, which is up from the 40 percent the county normally sees during a governor’s race.
“It’s very good to see that our community is getting out to vote,” Poleki said. “But we’re hoping to get up to that 60 percent, and it has been pretty busy this morning.”
Poleki would like to remind voters:
Precinct 19 is voting at Kiwi Loco Precinct 28 is voting at the Bengal Creek Apartments Precinct 50 and 54 are voting at the Pine Ridge Mall in the community room Precinct 60 is voting at the Sho-Ban High School in the gym
