Alive at 25 class to be held in Pocatello

Alive at 25 will be holding a class for at-risk drivers – those drivers age 16 to 24 – to help them become better defensive drivers. Alive at 25 is put on by the National Safety Council.

The Pocatello Police Department will be holding the class with the Idaho Transportation Department. The police will teach the class and the ITD will reimburse the city for the overtime expense.

The class seeks to stop traffic accidents, which are the leading cause of teen deaths in the U.S. This is the third Alive at 25 class the PPD will hold, and each class has filled the 23-student capacity.

“When the students finish the course they can apply for a certificate to show they have passed this course,” said Dianne Brush, community services specialist with the police department. “You can always show that to your insurance company, and some companies will give you a discount for your insurance for taking a course like this.”

The course will be on Friday, Nov. 21 from 4:30 to 9 p.m. To sign up, follow this link,Idsafedriver.org.
