Compass Academy Students Win $10,000

Students at Compass Academy got a pretty big surprise Friday: They found out they won $10,000.

The students didn’t know they had won that money until an assembly on Friday.

The school came in third place for Macy’s All School Lip-Dub challenge.

The faculty and students worked together to preform a remix of the classic hit “Be True to Your School,” by the Beach Boys.

“The best part of this was the number of revisions and feedback the students went through so it wasn’t just, ‘We all lined up and we did it.’ There was lots of talk about, ‘How can we make it better, what can we do differently?'” said Matt Bertasso the director of Compass Academy.

Each year Compass has a school-wide project, and this is what the students chose to do this year.
