Moose man arrested on assault, child abuse warrant

A Moose, Wyoming, man was arrested Friday morning on an active felony warrant for aggravated assault and felony child abuse.

The Teton County, Wyoming, Sheriff’s Office used the services of Grand Teton National Park and the Grand Teton and Yellowstone Special Response team in the arrest of Antonio Lopez, 51, due to concerns that Lopez may be armed and have violence tendencies.

Lopez was taken into custody without incident around 7:30 a.m. near the Grand Teton National Park visitor center, which was closed for the season.

Lopez was taken to the Teton County Jail, where he was being held on a $100,000 cash bond on Friday.

Teton County deputies are continuing their investigation into the incident that led to the warrant being issued for Lopez. They were not releasing further details Friday.
