Various arrested in American Falls drug bust

Various were arrested after deputies executed search warrants in a drug bust in various locations in the American Falls city limits on Friday morning.

The sheriff’s office was aided by the American Falls Police Department, the Bear River Drug Task Force and Southeastern Idaho STAR Team.

Those arrested faced possession of controlled substances and or stolen property charges, the Power County Sheriff’s Office said. Four children were taken from the homes. The children ranged in age from infant to 10 years old.

Some of the adults were charged with felony injury to a child. Three of the children were turned over to Health and Welfare, and the other was released to a grandparent.

Arrested were Jason Coppock, 39, Chassiddy Bowman, 23, Sarah Wasson, 45, Michael Edgar McCann, 45, and Sabrina Wasson, 21, all of American Falls.

Here are the individual charges some of the suspects face, as released by Power County officials Friday evening:

Jason Coppock, felony possession of methamphetamine, felony injury to child, misdemeanor, possession of paraphernalia with intent to use, misdemeanor possession of marijuana less than 3 ounces.
Chassiddy Bowman, felony possession of methamphetamine, felony injury to child, misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia with intent to use and possession of marijuana less than 3 ounces.
Sabrina Wasson, felony injury to child and misdemeanor possession of controlled substance.
Sarah Wasson, felony possession of methamphetamine, felony injury to child, misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia. Michel Edgar McCann, felony warrant out of Power County, misdemeanor frequenting a place where drugs are sold.

Deputies said they would not release further information at this time, as the investigation is ongoing.
