Man missing in Caribou County has been found
A man missing in Caribou County has been found, the sheriff’s office said.
Tony Varilone had been missing since 10:40 a.m. Sunday to go to an unknown location in Silver Springs and was scheduled to return two hours later.
Caribou County Sheriff Ric Anderson said Varilone was found walking down a road near the Summit Creek campground in the Big Basin area.
He had come to a locked Forest Service gate Sunday night and got bogged down on a muddy road. He spent the night in his pickup and started walking out of the area Monday morning, Anderson said.
Varilone was found safe and unharmed on the road by Forest Service personnel around 11:45 a.m.
