Multiple slide offs on I-15 between Shelley and Idaho Falls
Idaho State Police said multiple vehicles slid off the roadway on Interstate 15 between the Shelley and Sunnyside exits.
The accidents started happening around 4 p.m.
Freezing rain and black ice were blamed for the accidents.
ISP was asking motorists to use extreme caution when traveling and to avoid the area.
Local News 8 Meteorologist Michael Coats says there was a warm push of air out of the south that briefly brought in some melting and freezing rain to the Snake River Plain.
“The threat for black ice on the roads will be very high this weekend,” said Coats.
