City leaders in Idaho Falls work on fiscal policy

The Idaho Falls City Council and city division leaders met Friday for a comprehensive strategic planning session. Mayor Rebecca Casper said this will help the city spend public dollars wisely.

During the planning session, city leaders identified what their priorities should be, what kind of community they want to have and what resources they need to achieve those goals.

“We are taking a careful and critical look at how we are spending public dollars. We are also making sure that we can be accountable for how those dollars are spent. I can assure everyone that there is an appreciation in the City Council chambers that these dollars are precious and they can’t be squandered,” said Casper.

The workshop program city leaders are using is out of Colorado.
