Class to incorporate Sasquatch into curriculum
An Idaho State University professor is offering a unique class next semester about the evolution of humans, Neanderthals and the like, and one of the many topics will be Sasquatch.
Dr. Jeff Meldrum said scientists have been finding more and more evidence of different kinds of human-like beings all over the world, small creatures like pygmies and large ones like the Yeti.
Meldrum said the class will take a look at the possibility some of these species having continued to evolve with homo sapiens. He said he thinks the class will lead to interesting discussions.
“This is me bringing evidence forward and hopefully training the students and equipping them with the tools they need to critically evaluate and weight evidence,” Meldrum said, “So they don’t either have a blind acceptance of something, nor do they have an ignorant rejection of something. That they realize there are still things we don’t fully understand and still have much to learn about.”
The class, a 400- and 500-level course, is offered the spring semester 2015 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2-3:30 p.m. Meldrum said community members can participate in the class through auditing if they wish. Seating is limited.
