Pair arrested after Bannock County pursuit

Two men were arrested after a chase in Bannock County on Thursday night.

Idaho State Police pulled over a 2005 Cadillac Escalade on U.S. Highway 91 at Tyhee Road around 9:30 p.m. for failure to dim headlights.

The passenger, Levi J. Timbana, 33, of Fort Hall, took control of the vehicle from the driver, Miqueline J. Blacksmith, 27, of Blackfoot, and took off.

Troopers pursued Timbana and stopped the SUV using a “pursuit immobilization technique.”

The chase ended at Hawthorne Road north of Edmo Road.

Timbana was arrested on a felony DUI, giving false information to a police officer, and eluding and driving without privileges. Blacksmith, who also had a misdemeanor warrant out, was arrested on a charge of failure to purchase a driver’s license.

Both were booked into the Bannock County Jail.

ISP was aided by the Bannock County Sheriff’s Office, Pocatello Police Department and Fort Hall Police Department.
