2 hurt in crash near Downey

Two people were hospitalized in a one-car crash that blocked traffic on Interstate 15 south of Downey on Monday.

Around 9:15 a.m., Sandra J. Ashley, 29, of Soda Springs, was driving northbound in a 2004 Mazda 3. She lost control of the car and drove into the median, where the vehicle rolled.

Ashely was transported by air ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. Passenger Kevin L. Webster, 29, of Bountiful, Utah, was transported by ground ambulance.

Idaho State Police said neither Ashely nor Webster wear wearing seat belts.

Both northbound lanes of I-15 were blocked for about 35 minutes, and the right-hand lane was blocked for another 25 minutes.
