Two suspects arrested in Sugar City armed robbery
Two men have been arrested in Monday’s armed robbery at Brad’s Exxon in Sugar City.
According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, a man came into the store at 1 p.m. and pointed a gun at the clerk.
The suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash. He also demanded a wallet from a customer in the store and took it.
The clerk called for help and deputies were on the scene within three minutes. They followed footprints in the snow for three blocks, where they found the man hiding in a large garbage Dumpster.
The suspect was identified as Jeronimo Vasquez,18, of Las Vegas. Deputies recovered an airsoft gun that had been painted black and cash in the Dumpster. The wallet was found on the route the suspect ran.
Vasquez was arrested on charges of robbery and burglary.
