Some stores running low on flu medications
Flu season has reached epidemic levels and some stores are running out of flu medications.
Pharamacists tell us demand for flu meds have been high these last two weeks and they’re running low on popular products like Tamiflu.
Last week Local News 8 discovered some flu and cold combo packs were out of stock at a Chubbuck Walgreens.
But one pharmacist tells us her store is making do.
“We have the powder and so we can actually make the medication into a suspension for kids, because that one’s not available. Or, if the capsules are not available, we can make it into a capsule for adults as well,” said Dr. Lorri Shaver, a pharmacist at Shaver Pharmacy and Compounding Center in Pocatello.
Shaver said her pharmacy received a new shipment of Tamiflu on Wednesday and now has enough for around 12 people.
