City of Rexburg to seek $11M revenue bond
After a public hearing Wednesday night, the Rexburg City Council will proceed with an $11.1 million project to update the city’s water system.
The hearing cleared the way for the city to seek judicial confirmation of a revenue bond to pay for the work. If approved it would raise water rates for Rexburg customers by about $6 a month.
Those funds would be used to pay back a low-interest federal loan.
The public will have 14 days to review and comment on the proposal before a resolution goes to the court March 18. If a judge approves, the proposal will not require a general election vote.
