Rigby roofing business giving away a free roof

For the second year in a row, RoofTop Solutions in Rigby is giving away a free roof to someone in need.

Brittany Briggs of RoofTop Solutions said the winner is chosen through a process on NoRoofLeftBehind.com

“It’s basically the framework to enable us, as a roofing contractor, to give away a free roof,” said Briggs.

Nominations are accepted online, and are cut down to four finalists. From there, it’s in the hands of friends, families and others to vote for them.

Briggs said 26 families in Northeast Idaho and Western Wyoming were nominated last year.

“I don’t know what will come of it this time around, but maybe more people will know about it,” said Briggs. “We’re hoping more people will have an opportunity.”

Last year’s winner was Karin Quinn of Rigby. She said the cost of a new roof just hasn’t been doable.

“Every single time it rained we worried,” said Quinn. “Every time it rained we had to put a bucket in the bathroom.”

Those constant worries were gone after she was nominated by her friend Rebecca Stucki.

“I knew if anyone needed it, they needed it,” said Stucki.

She said the online process included some questions, a photo and a background on the family.

“Nominating is really easy,” said Stucki.

She said the real work started when the Quinns were named one of the four finalists. She called on friends and family to help vote for the family online.

“I know what Facebook is, and I can spread the word like no other,” said Stucki.

The deadline to enter is April 6, and entries must be for homes in Northeast Idaho and Western Wyoming.
