District 93 to ask for bond again
Bonneville School District 93 will ask voters to decide on the same $56.1 million bond they rejected earlier this month.
In a meeting Monday, the board expressed two concerns:
Lava rock on the new high school property. A study came back negative, meaning the board could save some money over that issue.
Wording that would allow the board to use any excess funds for other district needs. Some in the public worried that was essentially giving the school board a blank check, but board members said the money is needed in case they run into any other unforeseen problems.
People living in District 93 boundaries will be able to vote on this new bond May 19.
Like last time, a supermajority, or more than 66 percent, has to vote yes for this bond to pass. Last time, the bond failed by 69 votes.
