Steps to make tax season a little easier
It’s tax season and that April 15 deadline is fast approaching.
Doing your taxes isn’t the most fun way to spend your time, but there are some ways to make the task a little less painful- like hiring an accountant.
“So you know what to expect, so you know what that bill is going to be if you need to start saving money to pay your taxes, if there’s anything you need to be keeping track of how they want you to keep track of your receipts, there’s a lot for valuable information a professional can help you with at tax time,” said registered investment adviser Jennifer Landon.
She said it’s all about staying organized.
“It’ll save a lot of chaos and make things a lot smoother, so give a little thought to the deductions you might possibly have. Consider your mortgage deductions, consider your student loan payments, your interest on your student loans, any financial advisory fees that you’ve paid,” said Landon. “Another thing that you might want to think about is your investments and any capital gains and things that you might have to pay taxes on. Make sure you have all of that ready for your CPA.”
